Congratulations to Gabriela Monico, Winner of the 2022 Gainsberg Injury and Accident Lawyers Scholarship Award!

The team at Gainsberg Injury and Accident Lawyers is proud to announce that Gabriela Monico is our 2022 recipient of the Gainsberg Injury and Accident Lawyers Annual Scholarship Award! Gabriela has a wonderful story and we’d love to share it with you.

About Gabriela

Born in El Salvador, Gabriela Monico immigrated to the United States at the age of sixteen. She is the first person in her family to attend college, earning and undergraduate degree in Ethnic and Chicano Studies from the University of California, Berkeley. Gabriela discovered a passion for social justice at Berkeley, becoming actively involved with organizations supporting immigrant rights, including Rising Immigrant Scholars through Education and Educators for Fair Consideration.

After completing her undergraduate work, Gabriela took a job as a paralegal. She also had her writing published in an anthology highlighting the academic work of current and former undocumented students.

Today, Gabriela is a second-year student at Yale Law School. In addition to her academic pursuits, which include law review and research assistant work, she is a member of the Worker and Immigrant Rights Advocacy Clinic and serves on the board of the Latinx Law Student Association. Post-graduation, Gabriela hopes to continue her immigrant justice work.
