Congratulations, Jessica Ring, Winner of the Gainsberg Injury and Accident Lawyers Annual Scholarship Award!

Gainsberg Injury and Accident Lawyers is proud to announce that Jessica Ring is our 2019 recipient of the Gainsberg Injury and Accident Lawyers Annual Scholarship Award! Jessica is an extraordinary young woman and will be attending Northwestern Pritzker School of Law in the fall of 2019. We think she has an incredible story to tell, and are honored to share a bit of that story with you.

About Jessica Ring

Jessica Ring’s intent to change the world through the legal profession began from her years as a high school English teacher serving Chicago’s South Side. A first-generation college student, Jessica entered the teaching profession specifically to work with vulnerable and underserved populations.

As an educator in one of the most tumultuous areas in the country, Jessica was quickly exposed to the harsh realities of Chicago’s communities. Gun violence, poverty, housing instability, food insecurity, and police brutality were near-daily experiences for her students. Jessica worked hard both in and out of the classroom – writing recommendation letters, preparing students for job interviews, visiting hospitalized students, researching the immigration process, and assisting with college documentation.

Jessica loves teaching and working with students, but she realized she wanted to make a larger impact on injustice and inequality in Chicago. Though teachers can make an incredible difference to the students they directly serve, Jessica feels that a larger change is needed for Chicago’s neighborhoods. She feels she could better advocate for her student’s communities and social justice at large as an attorney.

Jessica will be attending Northwestern Pritzker School of Law in the fall of 2019. She is specifically interested in the Bluhm Legal Clinic’s work with wrongfully incarcerated minors. After graduation, she intends to work as a community advocate to further social justice in Chicago.
